Study for updating Directive concerning the safety and health requirements for the workplace 

Study to identify and access possible options for updating Council Directive 89/654/EEC concerning the minimum safety and health requirements for the workplace and Council Directive 90/270/EEC on the minimum safety and health requirements for the work with display screen equipment

The objectives of the study are the following:

• to identify possible options for the update of the Council Directive 89/654/EEC concerning the minimum safety and health requirements for the workplace and Council Directive 90/270/EEC on the minimum safety and health requirements for work with display screen equipment
• and to assess the impact of the identified options.

The situation in Latvia and Estonia has been studied to gain first hand practical insights into the: relevance of the Directives; health and safety impacts of the Directives; compliance with the Directives and related administrative costs; macroeconomic and Socioeconomic impact of the Directives; future outlook of workplaces and the work with display screen equipment.
