Development of Proposals to Improve Support for Parents Raising Children Alone
The aim of the study was to assess the needs of parents who raise children alone and the support available to them, and to develop proposals for improving this support.
The study analysed survey data from parents and included focus group discussions with representatives of national and municipal institutions and non-governmental organisations. The research identified the specific needs of single-parent families, the support required in raising children, as well as approaches to identifying these families and providing them with appropriate support.
In addition, practices in the Czech Republic, Portugal and Slovenia were analysed, focusing on how single-parent families are defined and identified and on the support systems available to them. Based on the research, proposals were developed to improve support for parents raising children alone.
