Supportservices for the INTERREG Baltic Sea region programme project “Baltic Science Network”
Baltic Science Network (BSN) is an Interreg Baltic Sea Region funded project aimed
to provide science and research ministries with an overall coordination framework to develop and implement science policy in a macro regional dimension and to ensure a better representation of macro regional interests on EU level; and
to develop and implement transnational strategies, incentives and programmes to support higher education, research and innovation (R&I) infrastructures to become better transnationally interconnected and to develop R&I excellence.
Support Services are provided for the project partner Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Latvia responsible for the implementation of the project activity 3.4. “Measures for transnational utilisation of R&I Infrastructure”. The aim of specific activity is to develop measures for better transnational utilisation of existing and planned R&I infrastructure.
The following tasks are to be carried out within the framework of this activity:
to collect data on R&I structures hosting facilities of international importance in the Baltic Sea Region countries, different modes of and conditions for utilisation of cooperation R&I infrastructure, motivating and impeding factors affecting joint transnational utilisation of existing R&I infrastructure;
to identify good practice examples of successful use of large-scale R&I infrastructure;
to develop concrete measures and strategic perspectives on how to support transnational utilisation of existing R&I infrastructure.
The output of the activity will be a roadmap for transnational use/ utilisation of existing/ planned R&I infrastructure to provide information and concrete measures for ministries, operators of R&I infrastructures and other relevant organizations to better exploit transnational synergies in the utilisation and projecting of R&I infrastructure.
